Thanksgiving 2015 Home Tour

This weekend we are celebrating Thanksgiving.
In Canada it is held in October, at the end of our harvest season.

Every year I host my family dinner.  Some years on the Sunday, even had it on the Saturday, whenever we can all gather.
This year it is on Thanksgiving Monday.
I decorated this year in a neutral and natural style.
Going with gourds, white, burlap, wheat, miniature corn husks.  Every year I switch things up a little.

For this tour, I have a setting for six, for the actual dinner there will be 11.
I will be adding and setting up an extra table, decorating it identically.

For my centrepiece I brought out my wooden box that I built a few years back.
The tutorial for the box is here.

I layered it with gourds, fern leaves, white pumpkin, candles, burlap, wheat and a few decorative twigs.
Didn't light the candles for this pic, maybe a tad to close to the dry corn husks. But they do look pretty in among the gourds.

Dishes I bought new this year at The Canadian Superstore.

The water goblets/wine glasses with the coloured leaves, I bought at The Dollar Tree.
I actually bought them a couple years back, but they are still there, I saw them a few weeks ago.
Always look forward to bringing them out at Thanksgiving.

Can't have Thanksgiving without having some orange, so I added a bit to the dining room buffet.

In the china cabinet, the beige dishes are "Memories" by Denby, and the cream dishes are from Walmart.

The sweet white turkey canister I bought in Texas, while on the road trip I took with daughter Rachel this past winter.

Moving along the rest of the house, I added a few warm autumn colours in the living room.
Along with a few miniature pumpkins.

A few pumpkins even found their way upstairs in the bathroom.

Wishing my fellow Canadians, a happy Thanksgiving.
And to all Thanksgivings to come, may it be a blessed one!
