An Autumn Centrepiece

This past week I focused on putting together a centrepiece that I want for our upcoming Thanksgiving.
In Canada it is celebrated mid-October.

I started with my long wooden box that I built a few years ago.
The DIY tutorial is here.

Knowing I wanted fresh pumpkins and gourds I stopped by my local country roadside stand.

In the box I have a medium size white pumpkin, gourds, small size Indian corn,
fresh leaves, balls of twig, wheat, bits of burlap and some tall taper candles.

Having a few pumpkins leftover, I put them in the bathroom.  Added a bit of Fall in this room.

Pumpkins everywhere.
Kinda cute.

Check back with me in a few weeks for my Thanksgiving tablescape.

  1. looks great Diane. I have done a big centerpiece in the past, only to realize that I have to find a place for it while we eat because I need the table space for all the food - are you able to keep this on your table during dinner?

  4. I really like this box. It is so simple yet the colour is perfect for the setting. It would be perfect year round to use on a table with some changes in the contents. It makes us get creative doesn't it.
I won't be having a Thanksgiving dinner this year as we will all be at a family wedding on a rustic farm. I can't wait to see how they decorate that place up.
