A Dream and A Christmas Park

In just a few short weeks I will be on the move....
moving to the country that is.

This city girl living in the country.
A dream I have wanted for so long, I can't even remember when I first started realizing that this is where I should be.
I only wish I had bought this farmhouse years ago.

The new farmhouse and barn.  Daughter Rachel took this with her iphone.

Actually I can pinpoint to when exactly I knew it was time to make a move in the right direction.

I was into my second year as a single mother, life was tough for me and my two little ones.
One night, after a difficult day battling all the wolves at my door, I was having a good cry.
It surprised me when I saw my daughter standing in the kitchen entrance, she had gone to bed hours before.

She sat down with me at the kitchen table and started to talk.
We talked and talked well into the night.  This child of mine, wise beyond her years finally asked me what my dreams were.
Life so far for me was too scary to even think about what my "dreams" were.
I finally said that for so long I wanted a small country property.  Big enough to have park like grounds.
And that each Christmas I wanted to put lights on every tree, and for people to come from miles around just to see it.

The inspiring Architectural Engineer that she was developing into, pulled out some paper.
And there in the wee hours of the night, we drew up my dream.
My park like property.  My Christmas extravaganza.
I had long stopped crying and hope was finally taking its place.

After that night, my life had changed.
I knew exactly what I wanted and where I wanted to go from there.
Thanks to a 10 year child.  And to the Lord for giving her to me.
And as for those wolves....I eventually learned to growl back.

It may have taken years to finally achieve my dream, but I got here nevertheless.
I may or may not have the park like grounds.
I may or may not have the Christmas light show.
I might even move into the farmhouse and conk right out.
But I am finally here and the possibilities are endless.

I move October 1.  Not sure how long it will take to get online after the move, but it will not be long.
I will be then getting ready for Thanksgiving with the family, here in Canada we have it mid-October.
Then after that, I will find each branch on each tree outside and put a light on it.
But first maybe should call an electrician! ha

You have heard it a million times, but dreams are attainable.
Make it happen.....it is that simple.
