Upcoming Hobby Farm Tour

Yes, another farm for consideration.
When I look for property to purchase, I try to stay relatively close to the major highway.
With both my children living away at school, they travel home frequently.
So I look for property that has easy access on and off the highway.
This is only a few minutes from it,
and still close enough to where I live currently in Sarnia, ON.

Whatcha think?  Kinda cute eh!

I am hoping to view it this weekend, however it might not be until next weekend.
In the meantime here are the Realtor's pics.

The property sits on  3.5 acres, with yes, a big olde barn.

I'm wondering if this fence is sturdy enough for a few horses?

A few pics of the inside.

May have to do something about this blue!  :)

Bath appears to be in descent shape.
I would maybe frame in a small wall at the head of the bathtub and install a shower.
Replace the pedestal sink with a cabinet sink.

It is price very low, so I can only imagine the race will be on with other buyers/offers.
But one positive thing about this price, is now I will have a bit more money to spend on renos.

But the best part of this farm.
A weeping tree.

I am excited about this place.
Will take my own pics when I'm there and share them with you guys.
Let's keep our fingers crossed!

  1. I do hope for you to have the best of luck with this one...it is extremely charming and with it close to a main highway, very convenient. 3.5 acres is really nice too...but to answer that question about the horses...maybe reinforcing the fence...looks like it might have been a fenced in smaller vegetable garden or a pen for goats or sheep maybe. And that dark blue in the kitchen...I agree with changing it...the kitchen has to be bright and airy. And you definitely can't beat a low price.

  2. I like this house better than the last one. I agree with you about the fence, that doesn't look like it would keep a horse in but with a low price you can get a nicer fence. Kitchen cabinets are not hard to do yourself but they are time consuming. Best advice I could give you is buy a Dewalt hand sander it made the job much easier for me.

  5. Best wishes! The bathroom looks spacious enough for a nice piece of furniture with lots of doors or drawers.

  6. Now we're talking...how charming is this! The exterior has so much character, so quaint. The grounds and the view are to die for. Nothing that a little paint in the kitchen won't fix...tons of counter space and cabinets. I agree about the fence, it looks to have surrounded a garden. But hey, that's an easy fix as well. I actually like the bathroom pedestal sink, it's classy. My fingers are crossed, I do believe this is THE ONE! Happy Valentine's Day!

  7. The house is absolutely charming and never mind the deep blue kitchen, you'll make it as charming inside as it is outside!

  8. Visiting from Anything Blue Friday- This looks like a nice home. The summer pictures sure are inviting. The barn roof looks like it's straight so hopefully she's a good one! Looks like the home has been cared for. The blue in the kitchen seems to really darken it. It would be a big job to paint all of it, but I think I'd lighten it up quite a bit! Looks like the roof over the entry has problems. I guess it depends on the price and what those improvements will cost. Those pictures make me crave for summer!
