Basic Blue

This past Friday, my daughter celebrated her birthday.
For her dinner, I asked her if she wanted the fine china set out or just the basic stuff.

She elected for a basis, simple table setting.
Since I was already decorating my hutch in blue, I pulled out my blues and whites for the table.

She was given her choice of menu.
We had tomato soup, her fave, to start, and rice, corn and pork chops followed.
For dessert we had cup-cakes instead of a cake.
I still managed to get 22 candles on them......make a wish!  :)

I used a beautiful vintage embroidered table runner with the centre piece.

The dishes come from Walmart.  Aren't they pretty?

Remember this little caddy makeover?  A total of $2 it cost me to make it this pretty.
It went from drab to fab here.

Speaking of makeovers, here is another little winter project I did.
Breathed new life into an old red egg basket with a pretty white makeover.

She looks right at home with all the other white and blues.

The blue china is Wedgewood, Royal Homes of Britain.

I have some pieces of this china in my Etsy shop.

I want to thank all that commented on my Daughter Turns 22 on the 22nd post.
I forwarded all your birthday wishes to Rachel.  And she loved them.
You guys are awesome!
She returned to her school apartment yesterday to study for a mid-term exam on Monday.
Kinda cruel to have an exam during your birthday week, don't ya think!!

  4. Your table and china hutch looks very pretty all in blue and white. I remember seeing these dishes reduced at Walmart a while back and almost bought them but there was only one set of 4 place settings. :( The wooden caddy is sweet and I like the pretty, vintage table runner. I hope you have a wonderful week! Pamela
