A Winter Tablescape

The weather outside may change from snowy one day to rainy the next,
but inside my home, all is cozy.

I am addicted to dishes and love to switch things around in my kitchen china cabinet.
I am eager to bring out my red and whites for Valentines Day.

So I thought before the Friendly Village transferware dishes get put away, I would do a tablescape.
A winter tablescape.

Every Sunday night, before my daughter returns back to school for the week, I have a more formal meal.
Tonight on the menu is spagetti, garlic bread and pie for dessert.
Although I put out the soup bowls, no soup is on the agenda, just wanted them to be a part of this photo shoot.
So - no soup for you!  :)

I love old tarnished silver.
Throw in a wee bit of rust here and there and I'm in love!

The pic above is my favourite.  However I forgot to put the forks out....oops.
Whoever sits here only gets to use a spoon and knife....I'll let my son, he won't notice.....or care!  :)

For the napkin I used these lovely crocheted placemats
Again, just used them for staging.  In real life, for tonight's meal we will use the good old regular napkins.
The sweet moose ring holders I picked up at Kohls during one of our monthly trips up to Bay City, MI.

We are currently having a January thaw.  I love it!
But old man winter doesn't fool me for a minute, I know that all too soon it will be freezing and snowy once again.

Isn't transferware so pretty.
So graceful.  So country.

As always, thank you for visiting.  And welcome to all new followers.
Stay warm this chilly January winter day.

  3. I think this china is one of my favourites and I don't have any pieces in the winter pattern. I have 2 dinner plates in summer though, both different. Your table looks beautiful Diane. I love the old silver. I also notices the glass pedestal candle holders and think they are really sweet. It's nice to sit down to a family dinner at the table. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Pamela

  6. Friday evening we sold this set. It was huge with bowl round and oval , platters gravy moat and trays, cream n sugars , two place settings were new in box still. Was going to bid on it, but knew my hubby would get a little upset as I have so many sets now, but it sure is pretty, it brought 50.00 at auction. Your whole setting is beautiful. God bless...
