Somedays are Golden

Yesterday my children and I were out of town, each running our own errands.

We were up near the Sarnia area of Ontario.
And it just happen to turn out to be a fun, pleasant and great day.
Nothing really out of the ordinary happened, I just enjoyed my outing with my little family.

I was picking up some transferware Johnson Bros Friendly Village dishes for my Etsy shop.

My daughter spend most of her time in the Mall.
My son, at the book store getting the latest addition of this or that comic or book.

But the best, best part of being in this area,
a sweet little retro restaurant that sells the most amazing milkshakes on the planet.
A little place, tucked away in a beach side town.

We stopped by at the end of the day.  Didn't even order dinner....just the shakes.

Yes my friends, they could be their own food group!

Now here I was last week telling you all that I now need to cut back on this sort of heavenly food,
but I figure this one little ol' time wouldn't hurt...right!!
Famous last words....hmm.

Anyway, a new little addition to my coffee table at home is a
sweet candle/muffin tray.
I copied the idea from Brenda over at Cozy Little House.
For some time I have admired how she created this and wanted to copy it.
Kinda cute, if I say so myself.

Like I said, just a golden day.

  2. Friendly Village is one of my favourites because of the homey scenes on them. The milk shakes look good, especially the chocolate one! Don't feel guilty as you didn't have supper! :) I love your candles in the old muffin tin. It looks very cozy. Blessings, Pamela

  3. Pretty dishes.
I really think the inside of the diner where you had your shakes is adorable! I love the RED AND BLACK...and the music theme. Wonderful. Love old fashioned malts! The dishes are certainly pretty, going to check out your store too.
...and of course, who doesn't love Brenda's style and her way with 'lights'. Have a great rest of the week. Pat

  4. Diane...
Thanks for stopping by my blog to view my sofa slip post. I love it so much! I have seen your blog before - the name is irresistible - You are such a good blogger to say that you copied something from another friend blogger - I might copy the candles in cupcake tins, too. Very cute!

  5. Hi Diane,
I love Friendly Village and I collect them myself. There is just something nostalgic about them. The milk shakes look good and I like the candles in the muffin tin. I have seen that before and meant to do that but I kind of forgot about it until I saw yours. Thanks for sharing the inspiration and coming to my HOME. Have a wonderful week, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
