A Kitchen & Lighthouse Weekend

Hope eveyone had a good weekend.
Mine was spent pretty much in the kitchen.
The weather didn't want to cooperate to much for me this past weekend,
so I pulled out the old recipes books and spent a lot of time in the kitchen.

Sitting at the end of one of my counters in the kitchen is this little vignette.
I am always changing it around, so this weekend I grabbed my camera and took a few shots.

A few vintage candle holders, milk pitcher, keys and I was all set.

The lighthouse picture is actually from a calender.
I took an old picture frame I had, painted it white and then repainted the mat.
Breathing new life into an old picture frame.
A lighthouse new life that is.  Anyone who knows me, knows I love the sea!  :)

I always try to have a few horseshoes around the house for good luck.
Vintage ones are even better luck - according to me anyway!

I like how the candle flames reflect off the glass.

All in all, I had a very productive weekend baking.
My teenage son ate half of it, while the other half went into the freezer.

  1. Good Morning Diane Sweetie...
Oh my gosh what a beautiful share this morning.

I absolutely love your vignette. That lighthouse photo is so breathtakingly beautiful. In the candle light it gives it that appearance as though it is lighting the way for a ship to pass through. I love it.

Love the little pitcher as well. That green band and the contrast of the antique keys, just beautiful.

Have a glorious week dear one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  2. such a pretty vignette! I'm afraid I would have eaten the other half of the baking, had I made it! I need your willpower to put it in the freezer =)

  3. It makes me crazy when the goodies I make are gone before I am done the cleanup from making them. Lol.
I love calendar pictures in home decor. They are often much nicer than a lot of the framed art in the stores.
