The Valley of Horses

What an incredible day my daughter and I had yesterday.
We spent it in the company of some majestic four-legged sweethearts.

A ranch full of horses.

As some of you know, my daughter was hit by a car last summer.
She has been in physio-therapy since, and is coming along nicely.

Rachel happens to be an excellent horsewoman.
As part of her rehabilitation, she has to get back on the saddle....both figuratively speaking and literally.

Yesterday we toured the horse riding rehabilitation centre she will be attending.

This cutie-pie fur ball followed us all day.

A haven of happiness for a girl raised in an equestrian world.

To be back amongst her equestrian peers.

Daughter Rachel with one of her therapeutic trainers.

Something she has not been for a long time......relaxed and content.

There is a bit of a waiting list, but I pray that it is not that long of a wait.
If I had a magic wand my sweet child, I would wave away the wait.

Beautiful place, beautiful animals and a very happy and excited daughter,
.....an all around beautiful day!

  4. Aren't they beautiful animals? My daughter is in Pony Club, so we get our equine fill weekly. I love nothing more than the smell of the stable =)

  5. I hope your daughter doesn't have to wait too long. There is a centre for such rehab on the Island and I know that wonderful things that can happen when someone who is injured is paired with the right horse.

  6. Hi Diane,

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your daughter. I am a firm believer in animal therapy and these photos are beautiful and have touched my heart. I really hope that things go well for her. Horses are amazing animals. Thank you for sharing.

  7. I am so glad for her and hope her wait is short. Our sweet grandson is 5 now and has been at a therapeutic riding center in Ohio since he was two. He presented with apraxia, a speech problem and has been so greatly helped by these special people and their wonderful program. I love that your daughter is already a horse lover and that she will be rejoining "her people". Bless her.
