Enjoying spring break

This week is March break for my son in high school.

We are planning a low key break this year with day trips here and there.

Last Saturday we headed up to Bay City in Michigan, and returned home yesterday.

My son and daughter

When the winter ends we normally start a monthly pilgrimage to Michigan.
Once a month we spend a weekend in Michigan.  We have been doing this for almost eight years.

Pretty city of Caseville, on highway 25

We stay at the Fairfield Inn, directly across from a huge shopping centre and movie theatres.
We do a little bit of shopping and my children always walk over and see a movie in the evening.
I hit the hotel's hot-tub!

Street after street of some amazing stately homes.

On route to and from Bay City we make frequent stops.
We always take highway 25, which is a beach front highway.

Snow and ice linger in Lake Huron

Later this week we are planning to spend a day with Nana.
We will also think of some other spur of the moment day trips.

  1. It's nice to get away and enjoy a favorite place. Glad you have the opportunity to do so with your kids. Enjoy! Hugs, Pamela

  2. Good Morning Diane Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share this morning. I love seeing the water, it is so peaceful and serene. I can see why you love it there.

Love the small town idea of beautiful old homes, restful evenings in a hot tub, kids near by at the theatre and peace and quiet. WOW.

My kids are long gone, the grands will be on Spring Break next week, I wonder if they could take us along somewhere fun???

Have a glorious week dear one. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  3. Looks like a perfect place to slow down and unwind. Blessings, Joanne

  4. It is glorious weather in Ontario for this time of the year, can't remember when a Spring Break was this warm.

  5. It looks lovely. That house is gorgeous.

  6. Looks like a very relaxing vacation. Love the lake pictures. Are you done with project 365? Miss your pics!

  7. Sounds like fun! You're so lucky to live close enough to a fun place like Bay City. When I lived in BC we lived close to the Wa. coast, what a great time we had down there.
    ENjoy your week.
    Hugs, cindy
