A Snowy Day

The winter has been a funny one this year.
The season just can't seem to make up it's mind.
It snows one day, and then it disappears the next.

I have never been a big fan of snow, but I have to admit that I kind of miss it.
New fallen snow, adds a touch of serenity to everything it covers.
Calming, cold, tradition.

My son is a winter person, he is a snowmobiler.
So he has been disappointed with the weather this year.

I always thought that when both my children graduated high school,
I would love to have the freedom to choose to spend my winters down South,
but now I am not so sure.

My daughter and me.

I think I am a winter season girl.

  1. Love that barn! And such a cute picture of you and your daughter! I am a winter person. I love snow! And this has been a very strange winter! Have a good day!

  2. Love the pics of the barn, and the snow is very pretty, but I am definately not a winter person. The brown, dead grass, and leafless tree's are so depressing to me. Your right tho, this has been a most unusual winter. We already have things budding out here due to all of the warm weather, which is just fine with me, but not good for all of the new blooms if it decides to drop down into the 20's and 30's again.
Enjoy your beautiful snow while you have it, and thanks for the beautiful pics as always!

  3. Come to New Brunswick. We have snow here! :) It's a sunny but cold day here today after a few spring-like days. I much prefer spring to fall weather which includes summer. I like heat and sunshine but not rain and dampness - which often come with those seasons. I guess I need to live in Arizona!

  4. I can tell you for REAL and for SURE that I am missing our normal snowy Wisconsin winter. This one isn't even winter!!! We went out today without coats and I saw people in flip flops - - - mid February in WISCONSIN.

What is wrong with this picture????

  5. After years of eastern Ontario winters, and several in the Barrie-Bradford snow belt (not to speak of a couple in northern Alberta) I was ready to trade my snow boots for an umbrella and life on the west coast. No regrets - I love the long, wet spring.

  6. I like winter when I don't have to drive in it. But I have to say I am missing the snow this year (cannot believe I am actually saying that!)

  7. I've been surprised by how many people have said they have missed the snow this year, I suppose when you are used to seeing more, it must seem very strange when it doesn't come. And also I'd never thought of how disappointing it must be for people like you son.
Lovely pic of you and daughter.

  8. Brrr....Snow is coming again! I've enjoyed perusing your blog this morning over my coffee. I haven't been too involved in mine lately..okay...not at all for a few weeks, but you're giving me inspiration to get back into it! Just visiting a fellow Ontario-ite (new word!) has made me feel better. I checked out your whole Day to Day section...Thanks! I'd love to see a photo of your heritage home...where do I look for that on your blog? xo wendy
