A Watery Walk In The Park

This week when we were out and about,
we decided to take our lunch break in the park.

Cozy Canadian Cottage

Seaway Park in Sarnia, On.

Cozy Canadian Cottage

A beautiful watery park along the St. Clair River.
A stone throw from the Blue Water Bridge, the customs bridge connecting Canada and the US.

A unique work of art serving as a water fountain is the MacPherson Fountain.

Cozy Canadian Cottage

Metal and water - beautifully put together.

Cozy Canadian Cottage

A whisper of a mist coming off the structure - a wonderfully cool feeling on a hot day.

Walk the beautiful grounds.
I don't think I will ever want to see the summer end!

A Sweet Country House

Today, daughter and I were driving along the countryside.
I spotted this sweet country house.
With beautiful perennials gardens.

I can visualize this sweet home with a bunch of little children racing around,
Grannie somewhere in there making Shepherds Pie,
a huge garden full of vegetables,
dogs chasing cattle,
horses grazing on the grass nearby.

 A sweet country family home!

What do you visualize?

Feeling the Back To School Blues

About this time of the year I start to feel the blues.
Why?  My children return to school.
So how do I cure these blues you ask?

Hit the thrift shops!

Isn't this sweet blue pitcher unique.
It was hand painted in Portugal...cool.  Picked it up for $1.00

"He's Got the Whole World in His Hands ...."
Thought this world globe might come in use for my son.  Paid $2.00 for it.

Picked up this University of Western Ontario beer stein for no particalur reason.
The University itself is only 30 minutes away from our home, maybe someday my daughter might go here instead of 3000 miles away in BC.

I will miss her so much when she leaves.

Now I have somewhere to put my wine bottles....$2.00.

Some pretty pink and red dishes.  They were 25 cents each.
Got the red candles for Xmas - they were 50 cents for the two.

...speaking of Christmas...

.....pretty Xmas mugs for $1.00.

Back to school.
Means the end of summer.  I am all summer girl here!
Never liked it as a kid, don't like it now!
I am not ready for my children to go.
I will miss our long days together.  Laughing, joking around, cooking, talking.
They will miss sleeping in until noon each day.
We will miss our great day trips. Daughter and I gardening together while son cuts the grass.
Sitting around the quiet house as we all read our novels.
Or sitting around the bonfire trying to out do each others ghost stories!
The two of them in the backyard barbequing, while I watch them from the garden swing.
I love spending summer with my children.

Sometimes it is just so hard to see my little chick-a-dee's return back to school.
I wish you could have stayed toddlers forever!
