A Pasture of Love

Yesterday my daughter and I were out and about shopping.
On our way home, we came across a sweet little quilt shop in the country.
This shop had horses in the attached pasture.

Since we are a family of horse lovers, we had to visit them.

As most of you know, daughter Rachel is recovering from a car accident from this past summer.

 She is an excellent horsewoman.
Riding for her now is not part of her physio-therapy and she may not get back on a horse for some time.

However, that doesn't mean she can't give some horses love and carrots!

Speaking of carrots, see the bag of carrots at Rachel's feet, well that was suppose to be for dinner last night.
A sweet sacrifice for some sweet animals.

The stallion in his own pasture.

For me, most of the time, I side on caution with stallions,
but not Rachel, she gives equal loving for all the horses.

She and I often talk about buying and boarding a horse.
She would go out everyday to walk the animal.
But to me, that would be like.....well..... dangling a carrot in front of a horse.

Such beautiful, graceful animals.

I am all for buying a horse, but maybe will let it sit on the fence for now.

  1. Very hard decision. Glad your daughter is doing well. She looks happy, and so do the horses!

  2. I understand what you and your daughter are feeling. My daughter has developed epilepsy and cannot ride the four horses in her barn or be alone with any of the large animals. She runs a rescue haven for farm animals, so you can see what an impact this has.
I love that Rachel stays connected to the animals she loves! ~ Maureen

  3. Don't they all just take your breath away. Very nice shot of the fence too. Would look really nice framed in a rustic wood frame.
