New Year's Resolutions

Now that Christmas Day is behind us.
Turkey sandwiches and casserole are on the menu for the next few days.
Relatives have all been visited.

I am thinking new changes, new beginnings for a New Year.
A brand new year.
Yep, I am one of those people who make New Year's resolutions.
Each and every year I am steadfast about a New Year's resolution.
Some times I stick to them and some times I don't.
Most of the time, I do not.
This year however I am going to do my all time, very very best to stick to it!

Here we go - my New Year's Resolutions for the year 2012.

#1.   Lose 20 pounds.

Okay, that is every one's New Year's Resolutions,
but what the heck...wouldn't might losing a couple of lbs.

#2.   Lean to knit and stick to it!

When I was a young woman in my 20's my sweet Mother tried to teach me how to knit.
I think I got about....ohhh....1/3 of a scarf done.

I remember one weekend Mom sitting down with all of her four daughters for lessons on how to knit and crochet.
I was a very busy young woman, and had too much to do....no time for knitting.
My other three sisters did and they, to this day, are excellent knitters.
So, will approach Mother in the New Year to sit down and teach me, once again, how to knit.

#3.  Get Married

Doubt is, but hey, you never know what tomorrow will bring!

....and Mr. Right could walk right through that door.
Get married for the second time....hmmm.
Let's hope he likes knitted sweaters!

#4.  Buy a sweet retirement house.

As most of you know, I am living in Stratford as my son finishes his last year in high school.
I raised my family in this community after my divorce.
However this is their home-town, not really mine.

I could live in the same town as my Mom and sisters and brother, which is only 45 minutes away.

Or maybe I will move back out West again.

Or maybe I will live closer to the beach, or right on the beach.....a beach house.

Who knows, but wherever I decide, I am hoping this will be a home I can retire in.
I still have and will continue to have the house in the country.  It is currently rented out and is proving to be a good investment.

#5.  The 365 project

I would like to post a picture every day.

Cozy Canadian Cottage

I love taking pictures with my new fancy schmancy camera and am wanting to upload one pic each day.
It doesn't have to be a picture I have taken that particular day, just a picture I have taken whenever.
I have thought and thought of this in depth, whether I want the commitment of posting a pic each day for an entire year.

As it is, I do try to do a post anyway every day, so what the heck,
may as well try to put up a pretty picture every day as well.
It might be kind of fun and interesting documenting my life for an entire year.
If I do go ahead with this, I will have a page on my side dedicated to my 365 project....simply called "365".

So there you have it.
My 2012 New Year's Resolution.
What changes are you thinking of making in the New Year?

  1. Sounds like you have made some wonderful resolutions.. I think you will do great. Having a list and checking them off is great..Good luck in you upcoming Year!!

  2. I am not a resolution maker, but I always have your #1 resolution in mind for the new year also =) especially this year with all that extra baby weight! I hope all your resolutions/dreams come true for you !!

  3. I haven't really made any resolutions for a few years, although I usually have vague plans of 'this year I would like to do...' but you have quite inspired me to make a list this year. Number one will of course be the same as yours, although if I don't stop eating Christmas goodies it will be nearer 200lbs that I have to lose!

  4. Sweet post... Good for you ..RESOLUTIONS .. are always a great way to start the New Year ( ha Ha)...May all your dreams wishes and resolutions come true...in 2012...I'll be back to check and see how they're going ...Hugs

  5. Happy New Year! Thank you for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. Looks like you have some pretty great resolutions in line for 2012. Guess I ought to start thinking about mine... Hugs, Cindy
