Scary Movies

Countdown to Halloween
14 Days

We are a family of movie watchers.
Although we seldom watch horror films, I can vouch for a few scary ones.....tis the season!

Downright Spooky Movies

Let have a look at movies that are downright spooky, minus any blood and guts, that will keep you glued to your chair.

"I see dead people"

The Sixth Sense has to be my number one all time spooky movie.
The part were the housewife visits little Cole....first time I watched it I nearly jumped to the ceiling!!
Very spooky.

Have a look at another downright spooky movie.
Again, no guts and blood, just guaranteed to scare the wits out of you!

Paranormal Activity Parts 1 and 2

You think the first one is scary, the second is just as bad.
Talk about things that go bump in the night!

Classic Scary Movies

The Exorcist

I remember as a girl this movie showing at the theatres.
Of course I was too young to go, but my older sister did and she told me that on each seat was a barf bag.
She said that a lot of people used those bags, lots of screaming and people left half way through the movie.

Doesn't it give you goosebumps just looking at the pics!
Very scary movie.
No blood and guts, just green pea soup!  (giggle)

Blood and Guts Movies

What would Halloween be if not for this horror flick.

All kinds of blood and guts, screaming, running and slashing.
I rented this movie a long time ago, but did not bother to watch the end, so I don't really know or remember this flick too much.

Moving right along...

Scary What Lies Under the Water Movies

This may not be spooky or gory but it still has the power to scare you silly!

Jaws Poster

Come know that this was one scary movie!

It took me a little to get back into the water after I watched this movie....yikes!

Another movie that scares you because you can't touch bottom is
Open Water

Warning - Lions Gate movie, one Rated R scene

Two scuba drivers are left behind.

That's why it is always important to stay with the group!

Fun Scary Movies

Couldn't find too many scary movies that made you laugh, but the best one would have to GhostBusters!

I ain't afraid of no ghost....

Wasn't this a great movie?

Other favourite of mine is Zombieland.

I just love Woody Harrelson - coolest guy on the planet!

Are you scared yet?

Stay tuned for tomorrow.
I bring you true ghost hauntings and sightings!

**Warning, Warning....only the brave can handle's that scary!**

I will be joining the Anything Goes party over at Type A

  1. Too funny! I haven't seen them all, but Sixth Sense is my favorite, cause it really makes you work. Great post.

  2. When I was young one of the first movies on cable was the Exorcist. My friend was the first one of us to get cable. we watched only a few minutes and ran out of the room! to this day I can't even look at the poster without getting the HEE BEE GEE BEES.
    Blessings, Joanne

  3. I think The Sixth Sense is a favorite of mine. Some of the others I haven't even seen nor do I want to. I'm not a big fan of horror shows or scary movies either. I get too, well, scared! I remember watching Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" at my friends house and having to walk home alone in the dark. I ran the block and a half keeping my head down from attacking birds in the night! LOL

  4. The Sixth Sense is a brilliant film, plain and simple. It is unique in that it is based on imagination and psychology to scare and make you think twice about the world around you. The director did a fabulous job building the image of the film, and I was not sure about the end until it is revealed.
