Decorating On A Dime - Part 2

The Living Room

Continuing on with my Decorating On A Dime series, let me show you around the living room.

Recapping the history - we renovated the house, and shortly thereafter we moved away for a year.
Before we left we sold all the furniture.
We returned home in May and I have been having fun re-decorating the entire house......on a dime.
Trying to make an empty house into a home!

One of the key items I had to buy pronto was living room furniture for something to sit on!
I bought this furniture off of Kijiji for $85.
Not my number one choice, but it is functional and serves it purpose, maybe down the road I can dream of a new set, but for now it'll do!

The Roxton end table was $20 off Kijiji.

The coffee table was bought in a garage sale in Michigan on one of our weekend trips across the boarder.  I paid $5.

The curio cabinet $100 off Kijiji.
The collection of Precious Moment figurines.....are ongoing......

Curtains I am waiting on because I am uncertain I want to keep the furniture or get new stuff.
I have a beautiful stain window that is currently hidden behind the bamboo shade - I want to get curtains that I can open each morning.  So drapery is something I want to start to buy.

And maybe some paint.

Join me in my thrifting adventures each week as I re-fill my home with good deals and treasures.

Diane

  2. Hi Diane,

I really like your house! I especially love the tall ceilings, the big windows letting in lots of light, the hardwood floors, and the windows with stained glass. You've done a wonderful job on everything so far; I really admire that you've done so much of it yourself. Thanks for sharing these pics, and I'm so glad your daughter is recovering.

    Take care,
