A Cool Summer Tablescape

As summer stretches and heat waves rave on across Canada and the US, this little cozy Canadian cottage stays cool with tablescaping!

For us, this summer will be quiet.
With daughter healing from her accident and son at summer school picking up extra credits.
Myself, I have been enjoying a slower pace summer than I can ever remember....and that's a good thing!!

I blended in blues and greens - like a cool summer breeze.

These Mayfair & Jackson dishes on loan from daughter add a summery feel to my table setting.

Instead of wine in the wineglasses, I think I will go with lemonade.
Or how about watermelon wine.....oh yum!
Has anyone ever had homemade watermelon wine??  Heaven on a hot day!

For the centre piece I pulled together a collection of thrift store finds.

So, I will let the heat wave rave on - as I sit under the shade of a big ol' maple tree in my backyard, ice tea in one hand and good book in the other!

I love summer!

I will be cooling my heals at Susan's party at

  7. Hi Diane,

Your table does look very cool and restful. I love the combination of blues and greens together. Your centerpiece is very creative, and I love the table runner and your crystal candle holders. I hope you enjoy your book underneath the shady maple tree ;)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for taking time to leave a comment. Have a great week!

  8. Lovely tablescape. I just read your profile and we have a lot in common. Too bad you aren't a little further south in Ontario. I am from the Windsor area and was just up visiting friends in Grand Bend last weekend. Nice meeting someone so close to home.

  11. Visiting from Cozy Little House's Welcome Wagon Friday. I love your centerpiece and am going to see if I can copy this for my home! Your tablescape is beautiful; the colors are perfect for a refreshing summer 'scape. I love your glasses and the candlesticks, too.

I think I could use some of that watermelon wine for my current watermelon tablescape!
