The Spoon Jumped Over The Moon

The Spoon Jumped Over The Moon....and so did I...

In my last post I showed my great thriftin' find

At the time, I only bought a 4 place setting.

This weekend I went back to Value Village and got the rest.

For the first batch I paid $14.99.

Paid another $14.99 for the second batch.
Another 4 place setting, minus a few teaspoons here and there.

And finally.....

The third batch  - $14.99.  This included serving spoons and fork.

Not too bad a price for everything, considering its value.

I want to have a complete place setting of 12 - so the hunt is on for more - Yippee!!

I am storing it in a vintage cutlery box I bought here in BC.
It's a little scuffed up, but that's okay...it adds character!

I want to complete the set, polish up the existing silverware and give it to my daughter for Christmas.
But because Christmas is like....a billizion years away, I know I will never, ever, ever last that long.

I love vintage dinnerware.

Diane

  1. I am glad that you went back to pick up the rest of the set, Diane. If you don't find other pieces at the thrift stores you can always check eBay!

  6. Wowzer, good thrifting. That is a lovely pattern and so much more useful with a placesetting (well almost anyway) for 8.

  13. Nice purchase! I've done the same thing before. Purchased something and then wished I had gotten more and gone back with fingers crossed that there is still some left and purchased more. Isn't thrift shopping so much fun?

Your daughter will love this wonderful gift.

  14. WOW!!!

I never find flatware when I am thrifting. That is an amazing score! You were lucky that they still had the rest of the settings.

Your daughter is very lucky to have a mom who loves and provides for her the way that you do.

Thanks for visiting my garage and leaving such a kind comment about my reorganization adventure!

  23. That's a great buy. You should be able to find lots of that pattern on Ebay. For polish, I really recommend Birk's Foaming Silver Polish. We've just tried it for the first time and it's wonderful!
