Which One Should I Choose??

With the renovations of the interior of my home completed, I am starting to shop around for furniture.

The first room I will start with is the diningroom.  I love my diningroom, it is so sunny and of course is the stage of my table setting passion.

We head home next month.
I have started looking on Kijiji  for a diningroom set.  Kijiji is like Craigslist.  We have Craigslist in Canada, but Kijiji is more popular.
The pictures below are from current listings, except of course for my dining room! :)

It takes me forever, and I mean forever, to make a decision when I purchase anything over $

Here are some choices I am considering

I love this one.
Price $1350
Comes with china cabinet, buffet and 7 pcs dining set
For the money, I think this is the best choice.

With the style of my house, I want something more antique.  Something elegant.  Something classy.
My home is a period house so I want to get the right feel.

Price $1800
Comes with a 7pcs dining set and china cabinet.
Way to much money, I could try to chew him down.

Price $500
Does not come with china cabinet

Price $900
Includes 7pcs dining set and china cabinet

Price $500
Comes with only 4 chairs and table.  China cabinet included.
I would have to change the seat pads.
Like the price, but I really need more chairs.
When the family gathers there are a ton of us!

Price $700
Includes 7pcs dining set and china cabinet
Similar to above, only with more chairs.
Don't really care for the glass in the cabinet.

I have emailed all of the above and have started the process of  inquiry.
If they sell before I come home, then so be it.  I find on higher priced items it takes a while to sell, so they may still be there when I am ready to purchase.

So which one should I choose?

My blogging friends, which is your choice?

I will ponder this question at

Between Naps On The Porch

  1. The buffet from the first set of pics is gorgeous! Reminds of the one my grandma gave me. Visiting from Between Naps on the Porch. :)

  2. You have a lot of choices there. Just beautiful.

  3. Oh my goodness, Diana, they are all beautiful but I think I like #1 and 2 best, especially 1. as it has the side board - if your room is big enough. All the best with your decision and purchase! I think the prices are pretty good too. Pamela

  4. Such a hard choice! They are all darling!!! Can't wait to see which one you choose.

  5. Hard to tell which one to choose. All very grand.

I love your renovated dining room. What fun you will have pulling it all together. The main credo I go with is, if I love it, it will work.

    Thanks for visiting me

  6. I'm here from House in the Roses and I vote #1 - because my inherited DR furniture that I love is very similar! I think it has the timeless classic look you mentioned, too.

  7. I love #1. I think the furniture is timeless and gorgeous!

  8. #1!! Classy, it never will go out of style.

  9. I'm not crazy about any of the cabinets that come in those suites. But I like table #3 very much. If it were ME I would buy table #3 and then begin watching for individual pieces for the cabinet and buffet - - - pieces I just COULDN'T resist, and for me they would have to be antiques.

I'd even consider using a piece that really wasn't INTENDED for a dining room - - - say a gorgeous old dresser. I'm using a dressing table that was built in the 1800's by a brother for his sister and I love it WAY more than any buffet I've EVER seen.

But, that's just my advice - - - you gotta do what will work for YOU.

  10. They are all gorgeous. But to me #2 was the most unique. It looked deco and timeless to me. They are all very pretty and I am sure whatever you chose will be a great choice. I see you are new to blogging. I have a newbie party going on now. I would love for you to join me and meet some new friends as well. I am a new friend and I hope you do the same.

  11. What a beautiful dining room, I'm imagining how wonderful it will be when it's finished. Enjoy!

  12. Oh I love your dining room.. I love the floor.. I think the side board on 1 is killer. What a hard choice.. I am joining your blog.. thanks for your lovely comments today.. Can't wait to see the finished room

  13. SO? Which one did you choose? I'm curious...I would have a problem making a choise, but maybe the buffet and set of 7 that goes with it.

  14. 1, 4, 5 all nice! Depends on condition of the wood I guess. When we moved I gave my dining rm set to my newly married son. It was from Thomasville, and I still love it. Now he is getting rid of it for a more up to date one. I could cry!

  15. Thanks Diane for becoming my newest follower. I love victorian homes. I am sooo envious of you. As far as dining room furniture, I think you should go for whichever set you like best. If the price is a little high for you, negotiate. If it's for sale, they WANT to sell it and mostlikely they have set the price high so they can come down and still get what they want for it. It never hurts to ask. Anyway good luck!

  16. Dear Diana ,
Congratulations on your penovated home .I know how exciting it is to furnish your "nest" !I personally like the first dinning set , but of course they are all nice and depends on YOUR vision of the room .Thank you for being my follower, so kind of you :)
