The Shop Around The Corner

Like most, I enjoy a good, healthy walk.  My time is in the morning.

On my route, just around the corner is a very sweet consignment shop.
It is run by the sweetest older ladies.
Their adorable shop is open each day from 9:30am to 3:00pm, which is unusual for this day and age where shops are open until the evening or like Wal-Mart open 24hrs.

I like to drop in each morning.

Here's a peak at some things I bought this week.....

Beautiful painting.  A lovely reminder of my year in BC.

British Columbia.  Mountains, evergreen trees, water falls and rivers.

They are the perfect shop keepers.
They offer free tea, coffee, juice and chocolate bars....yep....miniature chocolate bars.
Miniature chocolate, but never-the-less.....chocolate.
So much for my walking exercise!  giggle

Sweet amber wine glasses - so beautiful.

Love the details of the stem.

These ladies that I see each morning, have become a part of my life.
They have become my friends.
We head home to Ontario next month.  I will be very sad to leave them.

Have started to purchase some teapots.  Looking forward to joining teapot party linkies.

Sweet needle-point.  Thinking of painting frame white.

What do you think?  Change the colour of the frame to white....or leave it as it is???

Not sure what I think of this painting.  The ladies talked me into buying it!  They like to talk.

Isn't this a lovely tray.
Want to change it to white, add a little bit of stain, little bit of distress.
Should look very different when I'm done.

So this is just a look at some of the treasures that I have picked up at my favorite shop around the corner.

  1. Sounds like a fun shop, I like the amber wine glasses!

  2. You are so lucky to be able to shop on your morning walk every day! How fun those two ladies must be and talkative too. :-) I love the teapot and yes, I'd paint the black frame antique white. The tray is quite pretty in turqoise I think. You will have a lot of packing to do when you move back home. Then you will get to play at putting it all in your new home :-) That would be fun! Pam

  3. Diane, You got some really great things and I especially love the first painting. Won't it be fun to take all your new treasures home and decorate with them? Thanks so much for sharing this at my party.

  4. What great finds - you are so lucky to have a place like that to shop. I really like the picture of the flowers that they convinced you to buy.

  5. Shopping while exercising sounds perfect to me! Love everything you bought. Also love BC. Traveled there year before last for the best vaca ever! Dianne

I'm not sure which I prefer more, your gorgeous amber wine glasses which would look so lovely on a summery table or the sweet little tray! I'm rather partial to the needlepoint and the teapot too . . . hmmm, there is no wonder I'm snowed under with clutter :-)
